3D Art : Minecraft(ish)

This week's assignment continued our study of simple geometry. Starting by making a beveled cube, then breaking it apart for UV creation, alloiwng us to build simple textures in Photoshop to give the block the Minecraft look. Then the blocks are taken into UE4 and used to create a scene that is blocky and crisp.

Beveled cube with separated UVs.

UV map with TGA.

Sample of starting textures on beveled cubes: grass, water, tree (bark), leaves, rock.

Texture imported as material in UE4.

I wanted to make a snapshot of Gummi Glen, from the Disney Gummi Bear cartoon.

Rough draft of layout.

(Potentially) Final draft of image (before lighting).
